This policy explains what Inspectaly collects when you use our mobile apps and website, why we hold it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

1. Who we are

Inspectaly is a product of ODD TECHNOLOGIES LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Wyoming, United States, with its registered office at 1309 Coffeen Ave, Ste 1200, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States.

Where the law requires a data controller, that controller is ODD TECHNOLOGIES LLC. For any privacy question, write to hello@inspectaly.com.

When you use Inspectaly to record inspections, you are generally the controller of the information you enter about properties and people, and we act as your processor. We are the controller of your own account and billing information, and of the usage data described below.

2. What we collect

Account information
Your name, email address, company name and postal address, and the plan you are on. If you buy a paid plan, our payment processor handles your card details; we receive a confirmation and the last four digits, never the full card number.
Inspection content
Property addresses, checklist ratings, notes, photographs, timestamps, signatures and the reports generated from them.
People you add
Contact details for renters, owners and colleagues that you enter or invite. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to share them with us and for telling those people how their information will be used.
Device and usage data
Device model, operating system, app version, crash reports, IP address and which screens you used. Photo location data is captured only if you turn it on in your device settings.
Messages you send us
If you use the contact form or email us, we keep your message and contact details so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.

3. Why we use it

  • To run your account and sync your work across devices.
  • To generate reports and deliver them to the recipients you choose.
  • To send job reminders, service notices and billing messages.
  • To support you when something breaks.
  • To detect abuse, prevent fraud and keep the service secure.
  • To understand which features are used so we can improve them.

We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not use your inspection content to advertise to you or to train third-party models.

4. Legal grounds

Where the UK GDPR, EU GDPR or a similar law applies to you, we rely on the following grounds:

  • Performance of our contract with you, for account, inspection and reporting features.
  • Legitimate interests, for security, fraud prevention, service improvement and direct communication with business customers.
  • Consent, for optional items such as marketing email, analytics cookies and photo location capture. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation, where we must retain records for tax or accounting purposes.

5. Who we share it with

  • Service providers acting on our instructions: cloud hosting and storage, error monitoring, email delivery, payment processing and customer support tooling. They may only use the data to provide their service to us.
  • Recipients you choose, such as a renter, owner or colleague you send a report to.
  • Authorities, where we are legally compelled, and only to the extent required.
  • A buyer or successor, if the business or its assets are transferred, subject to this policy.

6. Storage and retention

Data is stored on servers in the United States and may be processed in other countries where our service providers operate. Where personal data is transferred out of the UK or the European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

We keep inspection content for as long as your account is active. If you close your account we delete it, including photographs, within 30 days, except where we must keep records for legal, tax or accounting reasons. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis and are purged within 90 days.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest. Internal access is limited to staff who need it, and administrative access is logged. Offline copies held on your device are protected by your device passcode, so keep it enabled.

No system is perfect. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant regulator as required by law and without undue delay.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • correct it if it is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete it;
  • restrict or object to how we process it;
  • port it to another provider in a machine-readable format;
  • withdraw a consent you previously gave.

You can export your reports at any time from the app without asking us. For anything else, write to hello@inspectaly.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not charge for this, and we will not treat you differently for exercising a right.

If you are unhappy with our response and you are in the UK or the EEA, you may complain to your local data protection authority.

9. US state privacy rights

If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access and delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or of targeted advertising.

We do not sell personal information and we do not process it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. To exercise any other right, or to appeal a decision we have made, email hello@inspectaly.com with the subject line "Privacy request". You may use an authorised agent, and we may need to verify your identity before we act.

10. Cookies and analytics

The website uses strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to keep the service secure. Analytics cookies are set only where you allow them. The mobile apps use a device identifier for crash reporting and diagnostics.

You can clear cookies from your browser at any time, and reset the advertising or diagnostics identifier in your device settings.

11. Children

Inspectaly is a business tool and is not directed at, or intended for, anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. If you believe a child has given us their data, contact us at hello@inspectaly.com.

12. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. For material changes we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect, so you have a chance to review them.
